Let’s talk about weeds. They’re pesky, stubborn, and difficult to control. They interfere with the health of your turfgrass, and, on top of it all, they’re not so nice to look at! Don’t get stuck in a never ending battle with these invaders. With more than 50 years of industry experience, we know a thing or two about eliminating and controlling weeds (it’s in our name, afterall). Here’s what you get when you have Weed Man on your side.
At Weed Man, your weed control program is specially tailored to the needs of your lawn. We use top-of-the-line weed control products, safely applied in the hands of our trained professionals. Our equipment is carefully calibrated to apply the proper amount of product, and we time our contact treatments during peak germination periods of the target weeds, like dandelions, clover, bindweed, thistle, and plantain.
The result? Within five to seven days following your weed control application, the treated weeds should start to blacken. If you're not seeing any discoloration at that point, please contact your local Weed Man for a free re-application.
Follow these guidelines immediately following your weed control application to increase the effectiveness:
Keep kids and pets off the lawn until the product is dry. This is typically 1 to 4 hours after an application, but it varies a lot based on your property. Ask your Weed Man technician for more information.
Do not water your lawn for at least 4 hours after the application. Please note: if it rains immediately following the application, the effectiveness of the product may be affected. Rainfall after 4 hours will not change the effectiveness.
Wait at least 24 hours to mow your lawn. Otherwise, you may cut weeds off before the product has properly absorbed into the entire plant system.
Be patient! Weed control takes time, and sometimes multiple applications are necessary. However, when combined in a comprehensive lawn care program, you will see a dramatic reduction in weeds growing in your yard over time.
Be proactive! Weed control is most effective when performed in combination with other services, like fertilization, aeration, and overseeding, and with ongoing proper cultural practices, like watering and mowing.
